About the Tour & Surgery On Sunday
Cycle4Sunday
Cycle4Sunday is a closed charitable bike tour that is coordinated by the University of Kentucky's Physical Therapy Class of 2011. The riders are a collection of 9 physical therapy students and close friends. However, every member of the class is involved in creating and running this event in order to help raise money for SOS.
The tour will begin July 24, 2009 in Lexington, Kentucky, and will travel 160 miles over 3 days that will take us throughout the surrounding Lexington area. At the end of the tour, a post tour party will be held which all sponsors will be invited to.
We are riding in order to raise support and awareness for SOS.
Even though this is a closed tour,YOU can be a part of C4S. Here's how
Created by Dr. Andrew Moore, Surgery On Sunday is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides outpatient surgical services for income-eligible individuals and families of Kentucky who do not have health insurance and are not eligible for federal or state programs. SOS receives support through the United Way of the Bluegrass Agency as well as donations.
Patients are referred from existing organizations in the community and receive much needed medical procedures that can range from dental work to general operations to reconstructive procedures. The services are provided by doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals who have donated their time and expertise to reach out to those in need.
